Are Subaru Impreza WRX's good cars? I am thinking of trading my old car in for one.

Subaru WRX cars are superb, 2000 model is godlike (family has had one for over 11 years, 200,000+ kilometres on the engine and still feels fresh), and 2004/5 models were also really good. The have become heavier over the years, but still have ridiculously good handling and superb grip.

The Forester GT (2000 model) is also one of the best small 4WD cars I've ever been in. Compact body, yet spacious interior, not as huge as moders SUV's and the running gear is based on the WRX. Ridiculously good machine, why they ruined it by making it another oversided vehicle is beyone me, but the 2000 model is legendary.

I was thinking about getting one of the 2011 models. I see that they have 267hp. It's less then the STI, but I want to spend only around 24,0o0 at most. My old car (1999 SL 600) is about 16,000 for trader in.

The Subaru is fast, and the all wheel drive will be good for the snow here. 200,000! Wow. Now that's what i call quality. My dads BMW broke done at 40,000 miles. And what's more, there is always something wrong with it.

The reliability is the best thing about them. Their biggest downside is that they can run a bit rich when burning fuel, but apart from that they are superb vehicles.

Overall they are excellent vehicles, can take a tonne of punishment and keep on ticking and are brilliant to drive.

Reason why I'm a little against the WRX/WRX STI is cuz it's got a bit of a rep of being a bit rough/raw, great for rallies but lacking a little in refinement and comfort for everyday life whereas the Evo is just mastery on wheels in any situation (and I assume at least a lot of that filters down to the weaker models).

Half price (or close to it) for senior citizens, students and children.
Still, it's expensive as **** for a 15 minute bus ride. And don't forget that the bus driver is usually in a crappy mood and the bus is usually late (especially during the winter)..

I've seen a couple of episodes (like 10 or so), and I can with great honesty say that it's one of the most boring shows on television. Granted, that's not saying much, but I'd rather watch Glamour before I watch Seinfeld.

Here is an update from this evenings news in Australia

1/ The 2 kids are aged 12 (Ritchard) and 16 (Casey).
2/ The 12 year old hangs around kids Casey's age and they egged him on.
3/ Ritchards "mates" have been bullying Casey daily for the past 3 years. (Ritchard only started at the school this year)
4/ Police are at the moment only concerned about the fact that Ritchards family have been receiving harassing calls all day and are looking to charge offenders
5/ Apparently both kids were punished equally (4 days suspension)
6/ Anti-bullying groups are condemning how Casey handled the situation
7/ Ritchard has gained a broken ankle for his trouble

No I didn't say that, I just just said pretty much all the power moves were counter moves.

Let me put it this was with Karate or most other Martial Arts I could put 20 people in the hospital just cuz...With Judo I couldn't do that unless those 20 people were just constantly charging me and I purposefully did all the moves in an unsafe manner rather than the way they should be done.

Seen a a brown belt judo fighter vs a boxer if my memory serves me right the judo guy had a better experience in his sport then the boxer, plus a few tournaments, he had his a... owned... by the boxer... he was to fast to get caught even when he did managed to do it a few hits to the ribs/liver made him drop the grab... Best fighters i know in RL atm is a guy who developed his skills purely on the streets his not one to be messed with, a friend kickboxer which works as a bouncer and the toughest one is a black belted karate cousin of a friend... that guy is wicked got speed, strength and technique...

And that they aren't really using a lot of judo moves in the MMA fights i've seen, (Judo isn't the only one having grabbing techniques). A very few moves can actually be pulled in a deadly way that including the moves you could modify... Judo is all about surprise and/or using your opponents strength depending on the move you wanna pull of. Of course their are a few prizes to be pulled on the ground that can be effective, but to get their it ain't easy... A boxer or kickboxer use their hands very quickly, a kick boxer can be even more dangerous cause he can attack and weaken your feet with precise painful quick attacks... so if you want self defense Judo is not the way to go... of course if you aim to be good in martial arts and are interested in a few trowing techniques or immobilization you could take a look at a few of the techniques in judo but that's all their is as a fighting art its not very useful in a real fight...

For the judo and self-defense thing, it actually depends on the person using the technique. IMHO, no one martial art, method, or system is ultimately effective. Not to mention the circumstances, or luck. In an able hand (I'm imagining Kazuya here), even a simple straight punch can break a neck. In the hand of a poser, even the most sophisticated jujutsu throw is nothing but a dancing move.

I was bullied in grade school and early junior high school. The bullying didn't stop because I smashed the bully's head with my fist. In my case, I only needed to stand up for myself and say no to the bully. It didn't end up in a fight at all. They still threw bad words on me, but they didn't have enough courage to really went physical on me. Well, part of it because I had also started studying Pencak Silat at the time, and they somehow knew that.

Well, bullies from my experience are cowards, really. They usually prey on someone they think are weak. They would usually never challenge someone who are stronger than them, or challenge someone alone, one on one. They usually come in group.

Once, coming back from school (I was in high school), riding in public bus, a student from another school asked me for money. I said didn't have any (I did, but why would I give it to him?). He was with his friends at the time. Rejected, he slapped my face, and let out a cutter knife, something that looks like this:

I don't know why, but I stood up, held the knife by the blade (it made my fingers bled) and snapped it. That really surprised him. At that time, a worker in the same bus saw what happened and forced the student to go out (not his friends though). It was near my stop and I decided to follow him (a bad decision actually, but I was young :p). I stopped him and asked whether he wanted to continue what he started in the bus. He avoided me and just ran. I never saw that student again the following days after the incident.

I went home after that with weak knees. I'm not (and have never been) brave at all, mind you and I usually avoid conflict, but for some reason when faced with that kind of fight or flight situation I tend to choose to fight.
