Never heard of it. What is it about?

It's a horror game that was released on the PS2 some years ago. It's about a young woman that wakes up in a mansion. The last thing she remembers is being in a car crash with her mother and father. IIRC, her parents died in it.

She doesn't know how she got into the mansion and some guy keeps talking about impregnating her. Obviously, she wants to leave. There is a woman that takes care of her but she appears emotionless and like a robot rather than a woman.

She begins to explore the mansion, trying to find answers as to why she's being held there. She meets a number of interesting...um...people that live in the mansion and seem out to get her.

Thankfully, she finds a dog named Huey. They team up and work together to get out of this mansion.

It's a survival horror game. I like it a lot. It's a lot of fun. :)

We had this biology teacher with this perfect between medium-large chest and it camed with a cleaverage and the setup of the desks in the biology class was a little different then normal class rooms, so anyway all us males (except a pentecostal) (not that we where many males we where a class of 21, 3 males (4 actually but 1 didn't count) rest females) stayed in the back and at the end of every lecture the teacher would ask if someone didn't understand so that she can come and explain, of course we never understood and had a perfect view of that clev each class :rotflmao:, but i think she liked it, its kind of hard not to notice 3 males staring at your clev... Oh and one my friends in that class was even funnier he attached a mirror to his leg and used it to watch under the skirt of the teacher :rotflmao:. Anyways some good news for me. The 2nd-biggest ISP in the country just came out with much cheaper uncapped ADSL offerings 384kbps @ $25, 512kbps (which I currently have) @ $40 and the faster services still cost plenty but even they have gotten cheaper.
However my dad does not feel like jumping ship...booo!...luckily though the country's biggest ISP and National Provider we are with has also announced they will be launching more affordable uncapped services so hopefully within say a year I will have better net, or at least more net though my ping will still be quite terrible for online gaming.

And yes 25 may sound too much for 384 and in the rest of the world it probably is but over here that's actually cheaper than what even the old 384 capped to 5GB offering was (which was $30). I say again country with the highest net charges in the world, before this week uncapped for under $100 per month was unheard of, no matter the speed.

True I don't visit so many sites every day, though if there's something I am interested in I generally do, it just misc stuff or stuff I had not seen or heard about before that I would miss (I keep a permanent tab open for them in my browser whilst they are current or if I am awaiting something). And I figure I can filter through that stuff just as quickly as I could RSS (well at least on a connection as a slow as mine, perhaps a 10MBPS line loads RSS faster).
Also a site that's well put together is just as quickly navigable as RSS.

But meh, that's just me I guess. I can understand that there might be more updates on a twitter or RSS like system than there would be published updates on a site as twitter is more informal and allows for a quick simple post such as this one. So if you're hooked on news (I usually am one of the last people to find out about something) then it's a decent tool, for everyone else it's just an annoyance though and a way for Teenagers to let us know whether they are constipated or not.

i can understand people paying $75 to make their wii not look like crap.
dolphin doesn't have perfect compatibility like the wii so its not an option for all games.

if it was $50 or something it'd be a lot more appealing since its like the price of 1 game to make all your games look better.

I believe it takes the output image and upscales it from 480p to 1080p, so rather than increasing the native resolution like Dolphin does, instead it scales the output image, so whatever normally goes to your tv will be bumped up to a higher res, including all aliasing and such. While it can make it look slightly better, some TV's already accomplish this with their inbuilt engines. Without seeing the images (the host website isn't working all that good at the moment) of the scaler in action and with no reviews and only comments to guage an idea, it seems like it isn't too brilliant a product, especially for the inflated price.

I guess the television I own that I hook up to the Wii has pretty good images...even though it's a bulky tv from 2006. Emerson. Not LCD or anything fancy. Do you mean that people have a hard time playing their wii games on a regular tv like that? Or just on their HD televisions?

HD screens do make the image look rather yucky, those with inbuilt scalers do a good job in smoothing things out a bit but those that don't do look hideously aliased and very hard to look at for long periods.

I guess the television I own that I hook up to the Wii has pretty good images...even though it's a bulky tv from 2006. Emerson. Not LCD or anything fancy. Do you mean that people have a hard time playing their wii games on a regular tv like that? Or just on their HD televisions?

generally the wii would look better if you have an old crt tv than a new hd lcd screen.

lcd's usually look bad when they run on non-native resolutions; furthermore the natural blur you get from the crt tv makes the low resolution picture look better.
you would expect high-end lcd hdtvs to have good built-in upscalers, but usually they don't.

i haven't kept up-to-date with the newest hdtv models, but i spent over $2k on my hdtv 1.5 years ago, and it sucks at running "standard definition" tv.
my bro also got a new high end hdtv 6+months ago and it doesn't seem good at standard definition either... both are samsung 1080p lcds.

i haven't tried sony's high end hdtvs. so if there are hdtvs with good built-in upscalers then probably its sony's highend ones.

Has that got anything to do with the movie "the Condemned" at all? because that movie was a near complete ripoff of the manga and anime Battle Royale. same concept in both. a bunch of people are placed on an island to fight it out and the last one standing goes free with a lot of cash. only differences are that the bombs to prevent their escape are on their ankles instead of their necks in the condemned, and that instead of a bunch of schoolchildren bout 17-18 years of age, they are all hardened criminals from death row in different countries. besides those minor details EVERYTHING is the same.

I have yet to play the sequel but I am playing the first game of Condemned at the moment. So far, it's nothing like Battle Royal at all. I seriously doubt that it is based on the movie. However, I have only gotten past the first two chapters of the game...maybe Snicko could answer this question? Though I doubt this series and the movie are two totally opposite things.

It's just an FBI agent that's framed for a murder he didn't commit. So he's trying to find the real person behind the murder by using forensic tools and solving puzzles. He also has been seeing things...such as hallucinations, bad nightmares, etc.

It's a horror game and I freaking love it! Snicko recommended it to me because he knows that I love the Silent Hill series and I'm a huge fan of psychological horror games. :D

nah i have a Samsung LN-T4066F.
the sony bravias were too expensive, and i didn't see a noticeable quality difference when i compared them in the stores.

i don't know how bravias look with standard definition content cuz they only show hd content in store demos xD

The condemned video games and the movie "The Condemned" do not have anything in common save for a similar title, as Irukapooka stated Condemned is more of a crime investigation game with added first person brutality. The film is similar to Battle Royale in its basic premise, however I think the director for Battle Royale made that movie as brilliant as it is. Especially considering he was in his 70's when he filmed it, to me it makes it all that more impressive.

Ah. That sucks. Well my PS3 still has a great image on my television. However, I wouldn't mind to have a much larger tv. It sucks because I have eye problems. Maybe if my eyes weren't so bad then I wouldn't need a larger tv. Oh well. :p It works for me, you know?
