Three years ago, my friend lost his wife while she gave birth to their son. I don't know the details, but all I know is that at the time she had a heart attack after she had delivered the baby. The son is now 3 years old, and not long ago he acquired meningitis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meningitis) and now is in coma. This morning, I received news that almost all of the child's inner organ has been infected. He's living with life support machine, and it seems the doctors can no longer treat him. The father, my friend, is given the choice to whether keep the child with life support or turn it off.

:( This just makes me sad. I'm particularly sensitive when it comes to a child's death. I just can't bear seeing children pass away especially in their early years (pretty much the reason why I never watch movies or play games with that kind of theme is involved). I feel so sorry for him, but there's nothing I can do. Fortunately a lot of my other friends keeps him company even now and try to cheer him up and lift his spirit.

Its not about about numbers, but complexity classes (P is one such class, and NP is another). See the wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%3DNP)for a good overview.

In a nutshell, most mathematicians and complexity theorists would be very surprised if P=NP.

BTW, if you're interested in the real world consequences of P=NP, see here for some speculation (http://blog.computationalcomplexity.org/2004/05/what-if-p-np.html).

Let's play make believe and assume P = NP in a strong way, say that we can find satisfying assignments of Boolean formula in nearly linear time with small constants. It will have a dramatic influence on the Western economy but not at all in the way Devlin perceives. We'll lose public-key cryptography but what we will gain from it will make the whole internet look like a footnote in history.

Learning becomes easy by using the principle of Occam's razor--we simply find the smallest program consistent with the data. Near perfect vision recognition, language comprehension and translation and all other learning tasks become trivial. Actually, no. Read my first reply that I gave in this post. During the winter season when strawberries do not grow and around the holidays such as Christmas and Valentine's Day, they are treated like a delicacy around here and used a lot to get people in the romantic mood. People usually do not have the confidence or time to make chocolate dipped strawberries. Hehe companies have to make their money somehow. They will up the price as high as they can as long as they feel 99.9% sure that the consumer will want to pay for that product.

But the machines can't sustitute the love of the people which makes the cakes. :(

Wesker sees fresh meat and proceeds to beat the **** out of her while I try to scramble back downstairs. "CHRIS HELP ME" She's too stupid to run away. What should have been an easy fight took nigh on 15 minutes.

yay! finally played Xenosaga for the first time ever. 5 hours so far. Everything about it is so Xenogears like. Im loving it so so much. Even the music is similar. The way they tell the story is exactly the same (swingy blinking cross?), you got to be kidding me if this isnt related to Xenogears somehow. Half the people i meet say it has nothing to do with Xenogears and the other half says Xenogears its book number 5 :???:. Anyway my only complains are no maps, scarce save points and the annoying forced emails.

lol, why did you leave the rocket launcher on the northern part of the map? the entire battle revolve around you using the rocket laucher agaisnt wesker, so why did you ditch it? also, why didnt you call her to come over? you know you can call her by using the partner button right? looooooooool

resonance is okay. i have it. the storyline really sucks so far in the beginning. Nothing is explained and the dialogue is really japanese-ey, really lame. combat is pretty funny but damn confusing for the first hour or so.
