well guys....... now I got a question for you all.....

hey, you all know my system specs if not here they go...

sis 620 videocard
CMI8738 soundcard
P3 500Mhz processor
64 Mb RAM
winME

so....... can I play zelda OOT in my PC? which emu should I use?

thanks!!!

Yes, you should be able to play Zelda OOT in either Ultra HLE or PJ64 with those computer specs. I reccomend PJ64 because Ultra HLE requires that you use a glide wrapper if you are using a non glide card (like my GEForce 2 GTS) where PJ64 does not require this. I have tested both Zelda OOT and Zelda MOM w/PJ64 and they both work excellently.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

well thanks man!..... hey, can you post a direct link to download PJ64?, besides, is there some kind of plugin pack for N64 emus?

takmadeus, your CPU should be fast enough to run PJ 64...but you really need to have a better video card. I would recommend a TNT2 m64 as a bare minimum...

well, I know that I have to upgrade my videocard, but it costs (here) like 200 bucks, and I don't have that money.....

I'll get a hold of the address of PJ64s home page. When I do, I'll post it here. About the plugins pack, I'm really not sure. I think that it comes w/some plugins that work quite well.

SiS 620 video card... I've heard that it really sucks. You probably will get some slowdowns during the game. I have an even crappier computer(PII400,64MB,Voodoo2), but as I have a 3dfx card, I can use Ultra/SupraHLE with no problems. THe game worked perfectly, with no slowdowns at all. Maybe you should try some Glide wrappers.

You won't be able to run Zelda OOT fullspeed on a P3 500 no matter which card you have,I used to have a P3 550 with my GF2 Pro and it ran at 30/40 fps,PJ64's speed mainly depends on the CPU.

well, you don't barely have the idea of how ****ty is the SIS 620 video card!! as a video card for 2d maybe it will so the work, but for 3d, even and old NVIDIA RIVA 128 outperform it.

I know that, the worst part of it is that it even doesn't have its own VRAM!!!! it eats 8Mb out from my crappy 64Mb SDRAM...

Guess I'm **** outta luck! I'll stick to Corn and Mario64.

takmadeus :
Your CPU is ok to run with SupraHLE (or Ultra).
Your video config is a serious problem but it is not the most scary to me.
Some Glide wrappers may provide you with decent speed.
Still you're using WinME (not know for its mind blowing performances) and only have 64 Megs of Ram.
Zelda OoT is 32Megs big ..
So whatever the emu, I strongly suggest you to get a hold of a program such as RAMBOOSTER and release ATLEAST 35 megs of ram once you have loaded the emulator.

I also suggest you to use SupraHLE instead of UltraHLE since some unecessary features (logging activity) have been removed (saving both virtual & physical space) and also because the configurator will easily let you select the wrapper of your choice.

Lord Tak, you've given me a final ounce of sha-bam to give N64 emulation another try! (Hope that made sense):)

it's ok man! I was afraid of N64 emulation too, since even PSX emulation used to kill my PC..... but now, hope flood my heart, and now I'll be able to play the game that I was never able to buy (100 buck here in Colombia)

now, your PC might be better than mine, so you will have the hell of advantage!...

what I can say is.....

let's play!!!

you are the best man!!! you are the man...... the first one that thought about doing an emu (doing, patching... whatever...) for crappy PCs...

another thing....

hey, what happened here?

I downloaded supraHLE and configured it, but when I run it, it just gets to run, but with really ugly graphics..... check images, those were using E-Voodoo v 2.04, with this config....

*color: 16 bits
*fullscreen antialiasing: yes
*fog: no
*fast alternate ZBuffer:yes
*triple buffer: yes
*alternate lighting system: no
*texture filtering: yes
*show FPS: yes
*16:9 viewpoint: no
*oversampling:no

hey, how can I fix this?, besides, the configurator doesn't have analog stick support, so how can I get it to work if everything in zelda OOT is selected with the analog stick?.

I try to config the controller by using the default feature inclkuded in Supra, but it really doesn't change the buttons.... any way to fix this?

The analog stick is the direction keys, and I don't think you can change them.

Sorry but the Analog keys cannot be changed (Yet? Use numpad for these).

I couldn't see any pictures attached. However, you may want to try another glide wrapper.
With Evoodoo, try removing the options such as triplebuffering, fast alternate Zbuffer, antialiasing and textures filtering. One or more of these features might be not supported by your video card.

Some other wrappers such as Clide, Mglide, XGL could do the trick.

Side note: if you feel like the configurator has not changed the wrapper, deleted the "glide2x.dll" it generates in your SupraHLE folder.

well, I'll give you an overview of the situation.........

I'm playing zelda OOT, and I have a minor issue, it doesn't show textures (only a green and red surface), and there are no sprites (the rock at the beggining, the fences, etc....

any way to solve it?

Well, what wrapper are you using and have you tried this? :

anti-aliasing is not supported by his card, AFAIK, though the other features are.
