So I've been playing Jade Cocoon on a laptop with ePSXe with Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9. Everything was working fine, then I put all of the files onto an external hard drive and transferred them to my desktop at school. Now when I try to play any ISO file, the game freezes at any point where there would be a transition or new screen. I've tried configuring the graphics plug-in to be fast and nice, and also a few other suggested configurations. I attached screenshots of my current video plug-in configurations. Does anyone have a solution?

Post the config of the PC witch you are trying to play the games with. (cpu, video card, ram)

Oh forgot to ask for the OS to :p anyway disable the game fixes,
Put Internal resolution: 2/2, disable frame limit in the plugin (if your using eternal make sure you check the Square fix also choose spuasync & smooth), you could also try peops soft plugin since its pretty much a sprite game.

My OS is Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service Pack 3. I think I changed what you suggested in the video plug-in but it still does not seem to be working. To be more specific, when I try to play Final Fantasy Tactics the games freezes in the intro when it shows 'Squaresoft.'

I suspect you are running from iso right ? you should try running from CD if it works then redump the image.

I'm not sure how to do that. The ff tactics file that I'm using in ePSXe is a BIN file. Would I have to rip the file to a CD-ROM to play it from the CD option?

He means use your original game to redump the ISO/BIN.

Oh, I see. I don't think that's the problem though because I'm getting the same result from running other ISO files. Every time I open a game and do something that requires a transition to another screen, ePSXe freezes. Examples are going into the Highwind on FFVII and winning a fight in Jade Cocoon and going to the screen where you gain experience.

I downloaded P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.18, set it to 'Nice' settings and tried FFVII but I'm getting the same problem. How do I use the 'Soft Video Plugin' versus the 'Main Video Plugin'?

does it lock up completely to the point where you have to restart the emulator to get things working again or does it continue after a certain amount of time has passed?

It locks up completely, the screen freezes and none of the buttons respond.

USB Thrashing can cause IO Lockups, usually because of power draw issues.

If that's what is wrong how would I fix it?

make sure your memory settings are correct in the bios.

Ok I went into the BIOS configuration and selected the SCPH1001 file from the bios folder where the rest of my PS emulation files are located. I also did the 'Run-BIOS' option from the File menu and I could access the memory card function and see the files on my virtual memory card. It seems like the BIOS is configured correctly.

I looked up my BIOS info, and my computer is running a Phoenix LTD 6. I think the command is CTRL+ALT+S? I may be wrong.

Usually you access the bios with F2/delete key.
