Trouble configuring ePSXe

I was playing Thousand Arms using ePSXe when the game crashed in a certain scene. I tried again and it froze in the same place. I guessed it could be a sound or video plugin that could be causing this problem. I was right: It only seemed to run without crashes if you enable the SPU IRQ Hack. I enabled it, and then I got through the crash scene without problems. But a couple of minutes later, in another scene, the game crashed again. I closed the emulator, and when I reopened it, the SPU IRQ Hack was disabled. I enabled it again, and then game crashed and disabled the hack.

I'd like to know if the cause of this is only the sound plugin or if the video plugin could have something to do with it as well.
