Ive been trying to use the Cheats feature as shown in this video (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=J4p4uNwfY3k) and using this codes (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/918916/32496). Ive done exactly everything as in that video, yet it isnt working. When i go to the grass, the common Rattatas and Pidgeys turn up. Does anybody know what could be going on?

if its gameshark cheats THEY ARE WRONG.

the person who made the cheats wrote the wrong master code.

if you look at the first line of the wild pokemon modifier master code, you'll see where they fails.

the correct mastercode is

000014D1000A
101DC9D40007
830050000000
830050020000

They are codebreakers. I used the codes I linked in the first post.

Isnt it the same file, just 'done' by someone else though?

These are all the steps i do to try to use the cheats:
1) Open VisualBoy Advance
2) Open Rom and load the saved game. (Currently in Route 1, if that matters)
3) Open the cheat list.
4) Open the first codebreaker window and set Desription: Master, Code:

000014D1 000A
1003dae6 0007

And press Ok.

5) Open the second window and set Description : Pokemon, Code: 83007CEE 0001 and press Ok.
6) Go in the grass and find Rattatas and Pidgeys (fail step fails.)

Also, and this happened to me earlier due to my own stupidity.. Make sure that "Disable Cheats" isn't checked.

I spent at least 10 minutes going "WHAT THE HELL" before I finally realized what I had done..

Also, not sure if this matters (it really shouldn't) try making sure every letter is in caps? Otherwise I'm not sure.. I've had no issues with them myself.

try entering them via the Gameshark button as well, and try a newer version of vba (theres a newer 1.8 available http://vba-m.ngemu.com/vbam/vbafiles/VisualBoyAdvance.zip)

Well, Ive tried gameshark codes for Emerald and they worked fine, so I dont think that Diable Cheats or the version of the emulator is the problem.
