Ok,so give me your advice on those games musics.
I think the 6&8 have the best musics and the7 the worst.
What about you?

im a little confused here..
are you referring to the japanese numbering system? :confused:
because just by numbers, isnt 6 the same as 3?

Raziel
April 14th, 2001, 00:46
YES I'm referring to the japanese one so here are the equivalent:
I believe only the first has been released on NES so it must be:
1Jap=1US
2&3Jap=never released in th US
4Jap=2US
5Jap=never released in the US
6Jap=3US
7Jap=7US
8Jap=8US
9Jap=9US
I think I'm right,if not then tell me.

Hey Disturbed have played FF6?
I know FF8 is fantastic(my favourite one on PSX)but FF6 is just a little bit better.

:eek: the first ever?? :eek:
heh, you missed out on some really sweat rpg action on the snes, but thanks to the magic of modern-day emulation, you can relive those non-existant days of your youth playing the games that made rpgs what they are today

Well,I personally don't like PC's RPGs.
I don't like the way you fight in most of those ones,the musics are quite bad and the storys never interested me.

I don't like 'em either.....they're just not the same...and they don't have silly small characters with big heads :D

but, what about pc adventure games? they fall under the "role playing game" category..
such examples are, discworld 1 and 2 (1 was ported to psx i believe), monkey island 1-4, maniac mansion and the rest of the lucasarts adventures, the quest games from sierra.. tons of top notch games there in my opinion

You're right Bgnome Ireally like Monkey island 1-4 and I played Discworld 1 on PSX:a very strange game.
Fun,hard,but very strange!:D

I liked FF6 the most, but as for non-Final Fantasy games, I liked Chrono Trigger and Tactics Ogre the most. They may not be graphically the best according to today, but back then they were quite something. Their storyline was great and so was their music.

Bgnome
April 14th, 2001, 02:05
definitely some of the best.
actually chrono trigger sells used at gamestop.com for $99.99 us, where it probably only retailed for about half that price. im not sure about ogre tactics, but i believe that is a collectors item also.
both games were great, awesome music, and have a lot of replay value (which is generally lacking in games today)

Raziel

Well tidus I must agree that Chron Trigger is one of my all time favorite RPG(if not THE favorite).
Bgnome,are you saying I possess(did I spell it rght)a collector?
I even have one that is broken (had to rebuy it via import 1 year later-damn I hate to be french,we never get the good games-and they run at 50 fps):mad:

Bgnome

yes, i do believe that chrono trigger is a pretty hot collectors item. i dont really follow the biz tho so i couldnt tell you how big it is. i also heard that ogre battle was pretty limited too..

The games produced now are mostly sucky that I can't even stand to play it once, let alone play it again.

yes, the adventures are cool, but I don't like the 'real' pc rpg's...
in fact sometimes I think the adventure games are more like japanese (console) rpg's than pc rpgs look like em :)

I think that final fantasy has the best and most original music out of them all. All the others musics were based off of final fantasy 1's. especially the battle music.

:wtf:

tidus

Yeah, or else how could they call it a sequel with everything different from game to game.

Cool! It's nice to know this, even thought I'd never sell my Chrono Trigger... I love that game too much... :-)

well.. i have to say that FF6 has the best music in the FF series. but the best game by SquareSoft in the music and storyline part (in my opion) was Xenogears. There soundtrack (2 cds) is aswome.

Hmm... maybe FF7 got the best... the quality isn't good because they are all midi's but the game is maybe second best, Nine is best... eight isn't so good because it's all sci-fi and too realistic... can't wait for TEN! :D

I have played trough 4,5 & 6 on SNES ... 7,8 on PC ... 9 on PSX (ePSXe!)

Why do so many people think FF8 is the best overall? FF6 kicks it's ass, but I guess there's only so many people in the world who have played every FF game:D

tidus you said that many people think that FF8 is the best,in fact most people think FF9 is the best and I must tell that I disagree with this.
FF9 is not so good,in fact I think it's one of the worst one.I thought FF7 was the worst,and that they could not make one worst,but they made FF9:it's not captivating,musics are somewhat average,the story is really:bad the characters background story is not explained(except Zidane but it makes only 1) and the bosses aren't enough original(not any personnal attack except the last boss and Kuja).
I recently restarted playing FF7 and I must admit I was totally wrong when I thought it was the worst,it's one of the best!
But for me FF8 IS the best because of its amazing musics and story, Squall is my favorite character of all FF with Sabin from FF6.
Well it's only my personnal feelings so I can understand if you don't agree.
Top 3 FF:
FF8
FF6
FF7.

Just one question:
Who the hell did modify my poll?
There wasn't the "They all suck"option at first.
Who gave you the right to do so?:mad:
I'm asking which musics you prefer,I never wanted to know if you disliked them.
And if it is an admin who did this it would have been better if you had asked if you could do the change:(

Final Fantasy 8 has the best music, I think. Others have really good music too though. I don't see why so many people think 9 has the best. I've only had one person ever tell me they liked 9's music the best. Most people tell me 7 has the best for some reason.

Well
When i first played ff6
It was the time when all the magazines were saying:

FF6:The best game in the world!

After I finished it.
I thought that that was just marketing...FF6 was a ggod game
but not the best.
Now when i see ff9 (I HATE THIS ONE) and ff8 (Second most hated but I think I must reconsider this by playing it one more time...)
I m saying that FF6 isn t that bad....
And now, I think it s the greatest of ff series.
Even the music cuz' most of the 7 and 9 are songs of the 6 remixed.

But the best game in the world is XENOGEARS!!!!!!!!

wow long post(100 posts I think.)

>because they are all midi's but the game is maybe second best
If you'd like to hear the music of FF7 (or any of the FF series) as it was meant to be heard, the orchestral versions are a *must*. Generally you can consider any music that Nobuo Uematsu creates to be nothing short of excellent. Though it's not as well known as his FF soundtracks, there's also an orchestral version of Chronotrigger that's fantastic, though as far as I know it's only available in Japan.

Of course any unreleased soundtracks in the retrospective countries can be obtained via mp3 from the "usual outlets", after all you can only have a non bias opinion if you have heard them all.:p

>can be obtained via mp3 from the "usual outlets
That's usually true, unfortunately the track titles of the CT soundtrack are in Japanese and, as a result, I haven't any idea as to what to look for given that Amazon and CD Now only list "Japanese Title" as the name of the track. Helpful, aren't they?

Absolutely. I voted FFVI the best. Any "which is best" FF question, I'm going to answer VI :)

IX was OK, VII was OK, I never got into VIII, it just seemed too dull to me. Loved IV and V tho... geez I guess the SNES FFs ruled! hehe :p

FFVI is one of the few games in that the characters really possess emotions.
And it possesses one of the best systems of magic learning in my opinion.
