Hi there,

I'm running ePsxe 1.5 I believe due to the fact that 1.6 and up did not seem to work on my computer.

Everything works fine, but there is one major issue.

I was trying to open up a FFVII save that I got from gamefaqs.com. It didn't work, and I stumbled upon memcardrex. So I've been fiddling with it all day trying to use it as a memorycard and trying to use the saves as savestates (loadstate obviously), but nothing seems to work.

I scanned the faq but couldn't find anything about this.

I've been searching the forums along with google for answers to my problem, but constantly turn up empty handed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

-H.

note - my MemcardRex version is up to date (0.8).

Wrong memory saves and wrong save state, try other. also try converting gme to mcd or mcr.

alright, still not working.

So Ill get a little more detailed.

I have a ROM for FFVII (it's the european copy of the game). IT is a perfectly fine working game and has never had any problems for me or anyone else I know who is using it.

Now I have tried saving it as an .mcr and a .mcd along with any other possible format it can be in and running it.

Now whenever I save it as a .psx or as the ffVII save on psxmemtool, it wont open the card without asking for me to format it first. It refuses to show that I have a file saved onto the memory card on the game. I have tried other saves and everything but still, nothing works.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

if its telling you to format it then format it, its not going to work unless that is done first.

Alright well once I've formatted it how do I get the save onto the memorycard? I've tried transferring it on, but it doesn't show up in the game.

is the save state you downloaded also for the PAL version or is it for the NTSC?

Most people don't understand really the difference between game regions, thus they'll always run into troubles.
Remember always to read documentations before busing any program.

As said by JONC, make sure your game and the downloaded save-files are for the same game, else it'll not work.

1) Open memory card with whichever desired program you might want, PSXmemtool is best because it automatically tells your region, etc.

2) Format and convert the region of the saves on memory card if need be.

3) Open up a memory card of the same region your disk is, compare the two regions and identity codes.

4) If everything looks fine, Save the memory card you've just edited and exit the memory tool.

5) Run EPSXe and Run the Bios.

6) Navigate to "Memory cards" and check that your saves appear under the memory card slot.

7) Boot up the game, try and run the save.

Hope that helps in at least a little way, I don't think ive missed anything.

Good luck!
