epsxe, pete's plugins for non 3dfx cards, lewpy's for 3dfx cards and either the internal or NULL spu.

Thank goodness this wasn't a poll. My fave is ePSXe with Pete's OGL with my TNT2 Ultra. And I usually use null's SPU or ePSXe core SPU with my SB Live.

The emulator which I use the most... Epsxe 1.2.0 w/ the Pete's combo specials! (CDR,SPU,GPU). Next is Adripsx Dos/Win, and to say the least, I'm impressed with the DOS version - quite fast even without HW acceleration.
If sony was smart they would release their own PSX emulator, that way people who knew computer could use it and people who didn't know computer could buy a PSone. But by the time that happens ePSXe will rule the world, and it will be as big as Microsoft! (thats how long it would take sony to realize the money making potential)

Update::
fpse or psinex2 + petes' plugins

ePSXe :D
GPU: Pete's D3D Diver 1.50
SPU: Null2's Audio Driver 1.3
CD-ROM: Pete's CDR ASPI Driver 1.4
I especially like Pete's CDR Driver!
I had problems with Square MDEC's freezing during play (the CD wasn't top-shape thought...).
The latest version with async reading solved all that... :)
My favourite is epsxe 121 internal beta

So the update leaves out ePSXe..how nice ;)

Epsxe works best for me. I like Petes D3d GPU, and either Nulls or the standard epsxe spu plugin. I usually run games off the isos.

Let's see, I'd put it in this order:
EPSX 1.20 - null SPU, pete's OGL and CDR
Adripsx and FPSE - they're about equal in my book. If null starts working well with FPSE, it'll move ahead by a little.
VGS - While emulation should be free, VGS is still the most compatable
then a few less orthadox methods - holding the Cd up to the light, watching it collect dust, staring at the picture on the lable :)
Oh yeah, and then after all of that, Bleem :D (ok, maybe I'm still a little disgruntled :) )

Epxe is best for me, i use Pete's plugin, epsxe core spu for epsxe

This on's easy. for FREE EMU's, ePSXe is the best hands down. But pay emus would have to be VGS. after I downloaded VGS (full version :) ) I fell in love with it. VGS is awsome. No plugins, simple setup. Plug and play! GET VGS!

Sorry for the people who don't know but VGS is the best.
1. Install and play - easy! In ePSXe I could be stuffing around for hours and still not get the game running well.
2. Huge Compatability - and people are now writing patches for VGS to make games you can't play well/at all playable
I've tried all from fpse to ePSXe and I still reckon VGS holds in. ePSXe is very very good, just not quite as good as VGS. I still have ePSXe though, for those games that run great with Pete's awsome plugins.

ePSXe 1.4 is very very good, extremely good is maybe better. But I'm not willing sit around and work out the best settings for each game when I can just pop the game in VGS and it works.

ok VGS is good , i'm not saying it's Bleem , but thanks to the pluigns , from all the autors out there , epsxe is abble toperfectly emulate games that VGS can't mostof the times VGS need UNoffical patches to make a Certain game work !!!and thanks to the plugins, epse can play On-line , it's the first PSX emu that runs' games on-line !!!

Hmm, this is a tough one... While epsxe is easily the best WHEN IT'S RUNNING, it does take 8-10 months to tweak it every new game.
VGS looks pants and doesn't have any cool features, but knowing you can just put the game in and play it instantly means I end up using it more than epsxe.
Although I'm sure epsxe has higher compatibility, I've still not got MGS to run properly on it, and VGS ran it instantly.
If VGS and Bleem both run games straight off, why does epsxe require so much fiddling? Surely there could be an option for it to take it's best guess?

i like the psx emulation cuz' It provides 3d enhancements.
Of course VGS doesn t it.
I m just intersted in vgs to see how the best commercial emu can
standing against ePSXe (in terms of compatibility)
if a game isn t supported on epsxe, i play on my psx

fpse 0.10 + SPUiori + Pete's GPU plugins (the soft one is the best)
FOR ME, FPSE it's the BEST and the MOST compatible PSX emulator.....
