Does anyone know or wanna write a tutorial on it? I was gonna clean my new one out. Its been sittin for 2 years and its really old so its DUSTY, but i didnt want to break it...

just download the repair manual for it. google it out.
You wont even need to do that, just open it with a suitable screw driver and make sure you don't touch the lens

1. Take out the Modem (important, there's a screw underneath)
2. Take out the four outer screws and take off the top.
3. Undo the screws of the disc part, which is the heaviest part of all. This is the trickiest part: Make sure that the lens is at the default position, which is where it goes after you open the disc lid while playing a game. This is needed because the ribbon that's attached to it can't be taken out, or at least I advise against it. It'll be obvious when you dissemble it.
4. Carefully put the disc part aside, then you can decide whether you'd like to go even further or not. I took out some more only once when I tried to repair mine. The motherboard and those things can be taken out as well, but it's a bit more risky. Just make sure you don't pull any wires and do something you can't undo when you decide to do so :)

The part to the left of the optical drive you can take out as well if careful, that's as far as you would need to go I think. Good luck :thumb:

Thank you cid, although i just gotta figure out how to take out the modem. :p i only played the games as i kid, not take it apart, its like a blast from the past...
