Hello guys,

New here ;)

Ok, so there is really something weird up here with my in game music for my Twisted Metal Series. For the longest time I never had in game music for the Twisted Metals, however I finally got it working yesterday with the Mooby CdRom driver and everything was great. However, today it doesn't work again. Everything thing is configured the same as it was yesterday, but there is no in game music for all of my twisted metal games. I tried mounting them directly with Dameon Tools and they still won't play the in game music.

So, I have spent the last 2 hours trying every sound plugin known to man trying several different settings in each, but I can not get my in game music back. Needless to say, I am about really to pull my hair out here. :???:

Any help I could get on this would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Gamester

Use the Internal sound plugin, and load via Open ISO

What version of ePSXe are you using?

I am using ePSXe 1.7 and all of the plugins I have tried are the newest versions too.

Which plugin is the Internal sound plugin? I know there is an Eternal SPU , which I have already tried and if you mean the plugin that came with ePSXe and then going to run ISO, I have already tried that too.

Just noticed my Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Destruction Derby 2 also do not have ingame music any more either. All of My Need for Speeds are working fine though, which is weird because I used to have a problem with them.

BTW, I just tried running from the original disks too and still no in game music :(

Thanks,

Then its a hardware related thing (Thinking about the lineout cable at the moment), so can you post your system specs (CPU/Mainboard model + sound card model if possible) + CD Drive model.

Well, I am pretty sure it is not a hardware issues as any other games I have on my system, non PSX, work fine and a lot of the games I play on ePSXe have ingame music.

I have a sound blaster audigy 2 sound card and a on board sound card and I tested both of them on Twisted Metal 2 just now and neither played the ingame music. I can't remember what my motherboard model is anymore. I have put three different ones in since I have had this PC.

Here are the other specs I know though:

Windows XP Pro SP2
ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512mb
AMD Athlon 64 XP 3200 running at 2.53Ghz
3gb of Corsair XMS

I still think this issue has to be some kind of setting or something that got messed up. It just makes no since that I had it was working yesterday after I setup Mooby and today it doesn't work on some games that it did work on yesterday when tested, such as the Twisted Metal series of course.

Any other ideas?

The one I have is called "ePSXe spu core 1.7.0" and that one does not play the ingame music either.

Man, I have tried absolutely everything I can think of. I even tried different bios versions with no change.

I would really like to get the music back on these games though. It just doesn't feel right playing them without, if you know what I mean. ;)

you are not using save states or anything like that are you? are you sure there isnt some in-game option that you have accidently switched off or something?

Nope, not using save states and I am not aware of any options or switches that would turn off in game music for certain games.

I am really confused why this doesn't work anymore. :???:

if the music does not play, then your drive does not support CDDA.

Like I said, I had it working a few days ago, but now it does not.

Works fine:
Need For Speed 3,4, and 5
Duke Nukem Land of the Babes
Test Drive 4 and 5
Gran Turismo
Road Rash
Tekken 2

Doesn't work:
All Twisted Metals
Destruction Derby 2
Mortal Kombat Trilogy

That is most of the games I play.

Uninstall the CD drives from device manager, maybe the redbook driver messed up

About your issue gamester, I made some search and I find this (http://forums.ngemu.com/problems-games/83234-mortal-kombat-trilogy-no-ingame-music.html). Meaby It could help for MK and perhaps for the others games.

Squall-Leonhart - I am really hesitant to uninstall my CDR drivers . I have done this in the past once and it would not let me install them again. Consequently I had to reformat my PC to get them to work again.

RedLion - That is how I have been running MK and the other games and that is how it worked a few days ago, but now they do not and all the Mooby settings are correct. It is really weird.

Gamester, if that occured, you needed to format anyway. the optical drives are redetected straight away upon reboot and if they aren't a reinstall of the IDE driver will do it.

Reformating is something I am definitely not doing. It would just be nice to have the ingame music again, but if not I am not going to do anything drastic like that just to get ingame music on a few games.
