I have read the list of compatible games for the NDS using No$GBA however there is nothing on the US version, however the problem is similar to Japanese version (i think), the text stays on the screen when it is supposed to dissapear, this makes the menus and battle options unreadable because the text overlaps.

can you recommend a way to fix this or is it unfixable at the moment?
is there another emulator that it works with?

There is no way to fix that problem other than to try using another emu or your real ds to play the game while waiting for a fix in future no$gba release.

thanks can you recommend any possible emulators that might possibly work with it?

they dont work either.
the only way to properly play FF IV curently is on the DS itself.

I've heard about a No$gba add on to fix the Japanese version.
It's called No$PMP, I think.

Yep! No$PMP.
I heard it also fixed some bugs on Dragon Quest etc.
But all of the fixed r 4 the japanese game.

Last time i checked ideas actually worked with ffiv. Little bugs included graphical and sound mainly, but text overlapping didn't occur.

The characters are too dark, it's a slow a little bit. The text in game is fine, very playable:thumb:

No$PMP doesn't work with FF4USA version :(

no$pmp is an add-on program that fixes the overlapping text in Final Fantasy IV as well as some other problems in some other games. I never tried it myself, so I wouldn't know if it works or not.

that sounds dubious at best ;P

Of course it doesn't work since it was 4 FF4,Japanese.

of course the magic can only work on the japanese version! everyone knows that the region change alters the whole sourcecode of the emulator and rewrites the memorymanagement from scratch ;)
but im sure theres a wondertool for that, too. let me find a keylogger and send you the link

Why doesn't any one with programming knowlegde just develop an add-on to solve this problem on the USA version so we can leave this question behind ??! oO

It has been asked so many times. It will deserve a sticky.. Just like that: Sticky: FFIV USA fix add-on

Because it's much easier to just have the people play it on their own DS

We're talking about emulators here, not consoles. Useless answer. If u love consoles that much go to the console discussion section :thumb:

We are talking about emulators which are trying to emulate a handheld....not neccessarily quite perfectly yet...so have the option between struggling for performance and other problems on a something trying to be the real thing and actually playing on the real thing which would you rather do?

why are you telling US? go tell the emu authors that they are basically wasting their lives... we can all play the games on the real thing, noone needs their work it seems.

Erm...I never meant that.

Just that it's pointless for people to continuously berate emu authors that it does not work propperly yet and complain and nag and generally be a nuisance when they can always play the game on their DS...which they need to legally obtain the BIOS files, firmware and to dump the games anyways.

Emulators are there to be used for modding/testing/fixing/benchmarking/entertainment and/or more. I may or may not be correct, though. They didn't waste their lives on making one, as they did it as a hobby.

I definately don't think this is a waste of time. As tom_mai says, it's more of a hobby. Actually, quite a lot of the time I'd prefer to play games on my pc rather than my handheld. But yea, back on topic.

Try out ffiv on ideas. It might be slow on your computer though. Also sound is still buggy. Some Graphics glitches still present.
