i click run cd/dvd and the ps2 loading screen that says sony entertainment starts fine, then it says there is no ps2 game in. heres are screen shots of my console and plugins.
do i need to get this SYSTEM.CNF that is "not found?"
i tried using linuzapps iso cdvd plugin first to open the iso then when that didnt work i tried mounting the iso image with daemon tools and using gigaherz's cdvd plugin, ending with the same result. if you need my specs or have any other questions i will give them to you although it doesnt seem like hardware is the problem in this case...any help (even just a nudge in the general direction) would be great.

It is apparent that the svn builds are not to have any support in this forum. However, do you have the same problem in 0.9.4? If so it could be possible that your image is not complete. Have you tried remaking the image from your disk?

putting aside the whole "betas not supported" thing, one (fairly unhelpful) possibility is that you have a bad iso; have you tried using the original disc? and do you get this error with every game you try, or just one?
and this may have absolutely nothing to do with it, but maybe you had a bad bios dump? though i'm not sure what kind of problem would permit the load screen but not recognize the game

yes i have the same problem with 0.9.4 as well (the emu not recognizing the game, not sure about the SYSTEM.CNF thing...), my first thought was that it was a bad iso or something like that...what do you mean image not complete? what is it supposed to have?

use the disc
August 26th, 2008, 03:47
just put the disc in and run it from that?

yeah. go to file>run cd/dvd
make sure you have the corect plugin

i have a copy of GTA san andreas that i just put in. i used gigahertz's drive, ran it from the D drive and when i started the emu it just went right to the browser...it didnt read it, is there any other cd/dvd plugins that i should be using instead of that one or linuzappz?
edit: an iso is supposed to have a .bin .mec and .nvm right?

an iso should simply be .iso as it is a complete copy of the disk image
try making another image (.iso) of your disk

i will try later and get back to you guys, have some work to do right now. thanks for your help so far
i assume i could use something like magicISO to make the iso image from the disk?

one of the plugins has the ability to do so I believe, but that should work.

oh the reason it wouldnt work before was because for some reason the disk doesnt load in my cd drive on the computer every time...im not sure why it only works sometimes, but now i can at least RUN them on the emu...running them well is a different story! the games crash a lot and sometimes just doesn't start, but i try again and it works. the gameplay seems like it is very slowed down...i tried putting VU skip on and putting the disable ABS and sync hack on but its still way slower than normal! im not sure if this is just because of my specs or because of my settings...although i have a feeling it is just because of my crap processor :( i have a 1.6 ghz dual-core AMD turion 64 x2 with 2 gb of ram and a radeon x1270 videocard. not the best but for 500 bucks it was a steal.
is there anything i can do to improve the speed at least so its closer to real time? i still get decent fps... (20s-30s) its just like...in slow motion.

try cottonvibes guide to get the best configuration, however due to the speed of your pc that may be the best you can get with this current edition of PCSX2.
