Is 69.99 a good price for the 3850? iknow the 48xx series is only $200 but the 3800 is much better than my card. Newegg gave me a coupon for the 3850 with my motherboard purchase for a friend.

Edit: title is Viper not vider...

the 3xxx cards were a (very quickly released) product refresh to improve on the HD2xxx's which didn't perform as well as they could have, However at that price, it'd be a bargain.

However, if you remember, any pc parts you are moving from can be sold on ebay and other places. You'd be surprised how much some people are willing to pay for older hardware

I hate advertisers! You're getting in the way man! No one wants to buy your stupid products!

Coming back to the topic, its the first time I'm hearing about this brand, it might have some hidden faults due to which it is selling that cheap. But even less known brands normally work fine, my previous FX5500 was made by Inno3D, anyone heard of it?

Diamond instantly means the brand is reliable.

Wait.... Viper? Never heard of the brand..... Be careful.

The Diamond Viper brand of cards are very respected in the hardware enthusiast community. I have an old 32MB Diamond Viper and it was THE BEST of its time. They did disappear for awhile, but they stormed back a couple years ago and still hold their quality value. I haven't heard a single negative thing about their brand cards.

Monster II's aren't bad either, i've had one for nearly 9 years, and its still going strong,

it outlived the Vulcan 2 i paired it with for SLI.
