Hi. Thanks for asking about Dxbx. To be honest, Dxbx is still in an early stage.
Nothing actually works yet, the only thing that you could do to show some graphics, is use the Cxbx DLL - but even that's crippled.
So you're currently better of with Cxbx right now.
However, some day in the distant future we hope to surpass the level of compatibility that Cxbx has. But for that, a lot of work is still to be done. Still, we're steadily improving Dxbx (as you can see from the steady flow of changes submitted to the source code archive).
For those interested, we do a few key operations differently :
we've got stubs for the whole Xbox kernel, which makes it easier to spot API's that need an implementation
we're using another way of detecting API's, which costs (way) more memory than Cxbx but offers complete coverage of the libraries involved
we're working on different approach for emulating Xbox threads, which will make Dxbx run faster than Cxbx, enables us to use the Delphi integrated debugger much more easily (including stack-traces of game-code) and allows Dxbx to run on Vista 64
Thanks for listening ;)

sounds great but,
whats with that XDK thing?
i thought its required to increase the compatiblity for more games?
so you do that with those stubs now?
sorry for noob questions but i'm more in the PS2 emulation scene than Xbox.

xdk stands for Xbox Development Kit
games are programmed in the C++ language.. the xdk give you the xbox compiler and some extra library functions that are specially made for the xbox.

Wellcome to the ngemu forums but next time please start a new topic instead of reviving old topic;)
please post your computer specs so the davelopers can help you.
Are you trying to play a game?
As you should also know that dxbx doesnt play any games yet.
Cxbx can play turok and few others but both of these emulators are not very useful right now. Davelopers are working hard on them, just the progress is not very fast because xbox seems to be pretty difficult to emulate.

I tried to run Yu-gi-oh Dawn of the destiny, and I received that kind of error, too.
" Resieved Excepetion Code 0xC0000005 @ EIP :=0x000000D9"
"Press ok to terminate emulation "
"Press cancel to debug"
I use windows xp 32bit. I tried this game on Dxbx v0.0.0.9 with dll: cxbx debug
Here is dump files (xbe info and kernel debug):

Yu-gi-oh Dawn of the destiny is not supported by cxbx.
tr games that are in the support list.
The EIP problems occours most of the times .. its a commen error, specialywith games that are not supported.
Try Turok, its working ... display movies.. but controlls are not supported yet by dxbx.
dontforget its eta software.

wich version of cxbx do you use, the version that is inserted into dxbx is the version of Martin, a old stable version.
If you got a other version of the dll`s, like the one from shogun then you override the cxbx dll`s from the cxbx version you like in the dxbx directory.
dont forget dxbx is still under heavy development, and dxbx dont changes annything on the cxbx dll`s...
the 0.0.9 release is there to show everyone how far we already came... and its a huge progress since the official 0.0.7 release.
but yah still can not play games with it, even not with the cxbx dll`s because controllers are not working yet.

i think i should forget dxbx .
now im depressive :(
but thx guys for you help .
eehhhm one little question to the Gcube emu :
could i play resident evil remake on it `???
shadow_tj

it was not my intention to make you depressive.. but dxbx is a cxbx port in development.
the original cxbx could not even play this game.. and we dont have graphics yet.
if you had read the stickys you would have known.
About the GCube emulator.. you should ask that in that forum not here :)
