I just go the emulator up and running and the game I choose is supported (so says the website... the game is Front Mission 4)

but I can't get past eh "browse" screen on the "Ps2". When I try to configure my keyboard/mouse it won't let me... whats the deal? I must be doing something wrong.

Basically, you can use anything that can be an input device (keyboard, gamepads, joysticks,....etc), but its preferable if you buy a PS2 controllers, that gives you the real sensation.

*And pirated games rarely work anyway. youv'e been forewarned :p

Drogdar

so should I just copy my disk?

and the game almost works in the same way if I don't mount it.

and I have always used UltraIso... never has failed before.

Try daemon tool, its good for mounting ISOs.

JEskandari
July 27th, 2008, 12:12
why mounting it at all let linuzappz read the image itself

karas81
July 27th, 2008, 12:27
How can linuzappz read the image, is he inside your PC ?

Try mounting that ISO you have with daemon tool, if its OK, and the virtual drive opens its content normally, then its a CDVD plugin selection/setting problem.
Otherwise, your ISO is damaged, and you need to dump another.

If you are using Linuzappz, then don't mount the same image on a virtual drive.
EDIT:
As found here: http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-official-forum/107798-problem-running-isos.html

now the emulator wont even get to the ps2 screen.

it keeps crashing... this started happening after I unmounted the ISO file.

i don't know WTF is going on...

I know my computer should be able to handle it... no problem there... I dunno what to do
(i went out and bought a controller too)

Does your BIOS works correctly ?
If so, its a simple problem with CDVD plugins, thats all :p

Fadingz
July 29th, 2008, 04:18
what is your systems spec btw?

Drogdar
July 29th, 2008, 05:10
Dual Core CPU @ 3.4 ghz
6gb of ram @ 1000mhz
2x 7950 KO GT superclocked (in sli mode of course)
Win XP Pro x64 Bit

like I said... should be no problem

Ima try a direct copy off of the disk, then if that doesn't work IDK what to do.

karas81

Try running the BIOS first, by selecting null CDVD plugin, then if everything is going OK, you've just to switch to another CDVD plugin depending on what format/media you want running your game from (CD/DVD (peops+efp CDVD), IMG, ISO,....etc(Linuzaapz+efp iso)).
Thats all.

If any problem while running the BIOS, know that its a GPU/SPU plugin, try always using different plugins set till you get it working.

One last thing, update all your hardware drivers to the latest (esp the GFX card).

Drogdar

where is the "null cdvd plugin"?

EDIT - what is linuzappaz (sp?) and how do I get and how do I use it? thanks again guys...

Those are CDVD plugins!!

Run PCSX2, then go to Config/Configure there you can config anything that your emu will use (plugins, bios...etc), look under CDVDROM drop down list you'll find all the mentioned stuff.

Drogdar
July 29th, 2008, 06:16
bios had like 6 things under it (went to select iso) and plugins had nothing.

karas81
July 29th, 2008, 06:22
mmm, look in the bottom left corner, you'll find two buttons to select your plugins folder [SET PLUGINS DIRECTORY] : which PCSX2 will load your plugins from.
And the other one is for selecting the bios folder [SET BIOS DIRECTORY] : to select which the emu will use to select your BIOS from.

Try clicking on each to config its path correctly, that should fix the issue of not seeing the plugins in the drop lists.

Now configure Linuzappz Iso CDVD 0.7.0 plugin, and browse your DVD image file( i.e. your PS2 game ISO).
Press OK-OK.

File> Run CD/DVD.

I have noticed that my Keyboard and Mouse configuration (using LilyPad plugin) work great for games like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Nobunaga's Ambition, and even Samuari Warrior 2. Some games like Kingdom Heart really needs a Controller but you can scrap by if you really set up your LilyPad correctly.

Now configure Linuzappz Iso CDVD 0.7.0 plugin, and browse your DVD image file( i.e. your PS2 game ISO).
Press OK-OK.

File> Run CD/DVD.

I did that... no luck. I can't even get to the Ps2 screen anymore. Ima play around with it when I get home from work.

Is it throwing an error in your event log? I noticed that when I orginally was using the PCSX2 I somehow messed up my DirectX files. Once I reinstalled the DirectX Redistruption file from MS then it started working for me again. Just an idea.

Drogdar
July 29th, 2008, 23:42
^ what do you mean?

Fadingz
July 29th, 2008, 23:44
You should use File -> Run CD/DVD
what hanibal meant was that you can try from the original disks with actual DVD plugin and see.
Perhaps the iso.'s you made are corrupted.

karas81
July 29th, 2008, 23:47
CD/DVD media = your original CD/DVD-ROM game disc.

And :

RUN = Used for running games (PCSX2 start using/reading DATA from Game Media directly without passing the BIOS/SONY_LOGO thing).

Execute : Do the same thing but with The BIOS/SONY_LOGO integrated in the BOOT/Reading process of the game.
