Disk switching in Valkyrie Profile

Hi,

I'm running ePSXe 1.7.

Plugins:
- [Video] Pete's openGL 1.77
- [Audio] ePSXe SPU core 1.7.0
- [CD-ROM] CDR WNT/W2K core 1.7.0

When I get to the end of disc 1, I'm asked to switch disks. I press "Esc", go to change discs, select ISO, and select the disc 2 ISO. However, ePSXe just gives me a black screen and nothing happens. I'm guessing it's frozen.

I've done some research and it seems games without a savepoint before the disc switch cause trouble. Is there a solution, or is only Disc 1 of VP playable due to the disc switch problem?

Please help, I'd really like to finish this game.

use a different version of epsxe or play from the game disc and use the change disc>cdrom method instead because the disc swap with images is somewhat broken in 1.7.0.
