the only way to use the wireless 360 controller is by buying the wireless reciever for it, there is no way around it since the cable is for charging only, it doesnt transmit anything through the usb so it is impossible to get it to work without the wireless reciever

MS has already invented exactly what you're looking for (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/), as lagunareturns mentioned.
BUT, you could just buy a wired controller for $10 more and then you'd be able to hook it up to a PC and you'd have an extra controller as well.

and you would be able to use it with XBCD then. since nobody has stepped up to implement the wireless control into the drivers.

The wireless reciever for windows is well worth it. Especially if you have more wireless controllers. The Joytech Neo USB have good drivers too (hard to find but they are out there and the controller is still great for Windows games and emus). You don't have to have XBCD unless you are using the Duke or Xbox1 "s" with a modded cable. The 360 controllers have drivers and are the best Windows XP or Vista controllers ever hands down. If you get ControlMK (free proggy) you can configure the controllers for mouse movement and key commands and play Morrowind type games with it and any emu (use keyboard and then emulate keys with your controller).

If you want rumble, YES you do. not to mention the official drivers dinput support is lame as hell.
