I need help beating Psycho Mantis in MGS

Ok as most of you know you must switch controller ports to beat Psycho Mantis. So how do you do this if your using a keyboard. Basically how do you switch controller ports.

You dont need to 'switch' pads. Just use the controls (different ones) for the second player. Done.

Dont forget to configure the 2P keys as required ;p

Ok I'll try this. But I'm just wondering if this is a proven fix, like has anyone done this?

Well, if you have a gamepad, and 2P is configured to use it, I suppose it's equally elegant to use it (not really proven though ;p ).
For that battle, as long as the 1P controls arent used, it's cool (starting from a few minutes before the battle, you could just save, reconfigure the keyboard controls from 1P to 2P, then just play normally later -with the keyboard now configured for the 2P port ;p )

Ok so should I configure Port 1- Pad 2 or Port 2-Pad 1

The trick is to use the other "Port" as the General? tells you.

Simply assing stuff to Port1 => Pad1 (1st Controller) and, Port2 => Pad1 (2nd Controller). When in battle, just use the 2nd Controller.

Actually to beat that part you don't have to switch controllers (i'm talking about real console now), you just have to play with controller on port 2.
Most people do switch because they only have one pad.

With ePSXe you have both pads plugged in. So as everyone said just configure controls for pad 2 and enjoy.
You can also configure both pad 1 and 2 to the same keys so you won't even have to do anything special as you are already playing with the 2nd pad.
