Hey guys, I just got an adapter recently and I bought a brand new Playstation 2 Dual Shock controller. I thought I'd try it with ePSXe (I bought it for Devil May Cry 4)

I tried configuring it in the options but it won't work, when I try to set a button it disappears. When I press the button on my controller I can see the letters and numbers on the screen with the button I press etc but as soon as I let go of the button it disappears and that slot is completely blank.

I tested the controller with the Devil May Cry 4 demo and it works fine, I also tested out all of the buttons in the control panel and they all worked. So if anyone knows how I can get it working (If it's possible) let me know :thumb:

Oh and the adapter I have is a Super JoyBox 3 Pro, the controller icon in the control panel is listed as "TigerGames PS/PS2 Game Controller Adapter"

I installed the drivers on the disc and I just bought it 3 or so days ago.

Thanks ;)

try using it with another emulator like psx and see if it does anything similar.

I tried pSX, all of the buttons worked except the analog sticks. Do the games have to have dualshock support for the analog to work or it doesn't matter for the emulator?

I just tested it out on Vagrant story, all of the buttons worked except the analog sticks (moving them)

I can't think of a game that uses the analog stick for me to test it. I think Resident Evil 2 had a dual shock version.

This probably won't help, but I recently downloaded the drivers for my JoyBox adapter to get rumble working. I got the latest drivers from here (http://www.mayflash.com/psps2.htm). Also, if you didn't know, you have to hit f5 during gameplay to turn on analog control.

Sometimes you get Analog [ON], sometimes it sets to [OFF]....

In my case, Vagrant Story, Analog is set to [OFF] untill the intro video starts. Then, is set to [ON] and the analogs work.

I still don't know what the colors of the [ON] means... I remember seeing it at least once being green.

EDIT: I got it working :thumb:

Hi.

I got Logitech Rumblepad 2 with latest drivers on epsxe 1.7.0.

But there seems to be some games below that I've tried, the controller seems not to respond in a strange manner, other games are just fine.

- Wild Arms
- Alundra

If you think that this is plugin related, what game controller plugin can you suggest? Thanks.

what do you mean by "strange manner"? are you referring to the analog sticks not working? if thats the case you might want to keep in mind that some earlier-gen PS1 games did not even have analog support. so basically, regardless of if the controller itself is in working condition, you wont be able to use the analog sticks for movement with those games if they are in fact one of those types.

i dont have either of these games but from what i have heard about them, they were released not to long after the system itself was so its possible they could be games that didnt have support for analog movement. the only work-around (if you want to call it that) that i can think of for games like this would be to map the dpad buttons to the analog sticks. technically this isnt true analog movement, but if stick control is your main desire, then that should be a decent enough subsitute.
