Hey ePSXe team, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your work in completing Playstation 1 emulation. I hope this old leech wouldn't bother you in asking how to get Dragon Quest VII working. I tried using P.e.o.p.s soft video driver as well as all variations of Pete's plugin, but the game won't start past the all-engulfing black screen no matter what.

post your system specs., the plugins you are using and how you have them configured. are you playing from the game disc or from an image of it? if you are playing from an image state the format you made it in.

As for the plugins I tried, here's the list.
Pete's D3D Driver 1.77
P.E.Op.s soft Driver 1.18
Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.77
Pete's OgenGL Driver 1.77
Pete's OpenGL2 Diver 2.9
The image I'm using is ".NRG".

is this the only game that this happens in or are you getting this same issue with everything you try? i would make a new image using the game disc but this time do it in a format such as .bin/.cue or .ccd/.img/.sub.

This only happens with Dragon Quest 7, and I think the problem could be the .nrg file. Let me see if an iso works instead.

yeah try it in another format, preferably .bin/.cue.

Yeah, an iso doesn't seem to work either. Does it have to have some either files with it to work, like the .bin and .cue you mentioned?

no but when using the .bin/.cue format you need to have both files in the same directory. how did you load the image did you mount the .bin on a virtual drive or did you just do the file>run>iso from epsxe's GUI? does the game work when being run from the disc?
