Which sound/GPU/CD-R plugins are you using?
Are you running from CD or Image/ISO?
EDIT : Also, Which game?

use the eternal spu 1.41 if you are using any version of epsxe other than version 1.7.0 and set it up like mine-
audio device- directsound
buffer size- 64
audio-out method- thread
all 3 special game fixes enabled
"wait for XA buffer is free" enabled under the "misc" section
neill's reverb
in the spu selection menu have the top 3 boxes enabled but do not enable the 4th.
and what format are your images in and how are you loading them, are you mounting them on a virtual drive?

does the .bin have a .cue file paired with it? if not you need to make a new image but this time make sure you get both a .bin and a .cue otherwise they usually dont work. you should try playing from the disc too so you can find out if it is something that is limited to images or if it happens regardless of what you are doing to play the game.

yea they all have .cue with the .bin files and i have tryed wiv ps1 disc's but sound is still missing well i will have i mess around wiv it when i wake up and i will let u know if i fixed it..... goodnight.. well good morning (5:52am here)
i used the sound plugin u said with the settings and it didnt make a difference......
just a lil Q wot file do i mount because i have a .cue or .img.....
oh and when i opened up .img in PowerISO it didnt display the songs but when i opened the .cue in PowerISO it did so if i have to make a new .img how do i do it and wot software do i use??
i downloaded and used virtual clonedrive and it would only let me mount the .ccd file but it autoplayed the music from the game so i thought i was in luck but then i try running the game from cdrom and still no sound from the video and no music in game (i tryed this on rage racer) i tryed to run my attual playstation copy but it was to scratched up to work >.<
oh and its not just rage racer its nearly all my games

personally i always recommend using the .bin/.cue format because its pretty much what i make all my images in and it has never let me down. .ccd/.img/.sub is the next thing i would suggest to use. anyway, the .cue file is basically a table of contents that tells the emulator where the data and audio channels are located in the .bin file. when using a .bin/.cue format you do not mount the .cue, you mount the .bin. (you dont always need to mount an image on a virtual drive either, if you were to use the file>run>iso in the emulators GUI then you would select just the .bin file there as well so leave the .cue file alone in both methods). however both files must be put in the same directory otherwise it will not work. you can find multiple programs to use and guides on how to use them in this (http://forums.ngemu.com/misc-psx-discussion/34515-how-make-perfect-backup-psx-games.html) thread.
edit- and just so you know- do not try to convert one format into another because it will not work, you need to make a new image using the game disc as the source in order to pull this off.

ok i will try and make a image of the disk but one thing is bugging me the sound on all my games (including rage racer which is downloaded because of the disk) work on epsxe 1.7.0 but i cant use 1.7.0 because of the non-combatibity of my control pad... i give up looks like im going shopping today for a new control pad >.< well thanks for your help anyways its been much aprechiated
