problem running epsxe

when i run the program it start ok but when i run the bios it starts and suddenly it like freezes a sec and then it continues and freezes again and continues and so on like every 2 seconds. and what is more annoying is that after i close epsxe the problem continues on windows so i have to restart my pc to be able to use it again. and thats just the bios, im not even running a game. what can be the problem. i guess it could be a graphic problem i have an ati radeon 9550 series i think and im using petes opengl2 plugin. so what can i do? i dont want to be restarting my pc everytime. thanks.

update your catalyst drivers to 8.5 or higher if you are trying to use the OGL plugins. post how you have your plugins setup as well if possible. what windows are you using, vista? and what version of epsxe are you using, 1.7.0?

Ok im updating the drivers now, im using 1.7.0 epsxe and im on windows XP, the video settings are this:

Edit: ok after updating the drivers and running it in windowed mode the bios is working fine now. i dont know if it is the windowed mode or the controller but whatever it is it worked. thanks a lot jonc2006.
