View Full Version : Can't change music (CD Track in game) volume...

I have been trying to solve this issue myself for a while now, but I havnt found a solution.

In games like WipeOut XL and Twisted Metal 3, where the music that plays is from a standard CD audio track, I cant adjust the volume of the music. The in game sliders have no effect whatsoever. Because of this, the ingame music is quite loud and drowns out the SFX. With no way to adjust the music volume independantly, this is annoying.

Useing the bundled internal SPU 1.7 is the only way I can even get CD audio to work, on either my laptop OR desktop. None of the 3rd party audio plugins will even work for CD music in any game I got. I'd prefer to use Eternal plugin for sound because it sounds more accurate to me, and clearer, but since the music doesnt work, its not ideal for me.

Any ideas? Is it a bug or missing feature? Any help or insight is appreciated. Note, I am having this issue on BOTH of my systems, and in both eSPXe 1.6 and 1.7. Here are my systems:

LAPTOP:
1.6ghz Core 2 Duo T5200
GeForce Go 7900 GS
DVD+-R/RW drive (no idea if it supports the analog CD Audio cable...prolly doesnt being a laptop)
Sigmatel integrated HD Audio chip
2gigs of ram
Win Vista Home Premium 32bit

DESKTOP:
Athlon XP 3000+
GeForce 4 MX 440 Integrated
Sound Blaster Live 24bit
LITEON DVDROM/CD RW (The analog CD Audio cable IS connected to the soundcard)
1gig of ram
Win XP Pro

I have tried running from an ISO and from a virtual CD Drive, and even from the game disc itself. The exact same issue remains. Anyone...please help me out. Thanks.
