View Full Version : A little widescreen advice?

I have widescreen aspect ratio problems.

I have a Flatron L225WT (22" LCD) and when i played games using nVideas fixed-aspect ratio settings it would squish the image just a little bit make the game look a little thin. It seemed like the aspect ratio was a little too thin. So I turned off nVideas fixed-aspect ratio and started using 'display scaling'.

That let me use the emulators plugin to scale the game instead of the gfx card. I always played on 640x480. When i changed it to 'display scaling' the aspect got far worse, there was black bars on the top and bottom of the screen instead of the expected left and right.

I thought maybe my id need to increase my width for the scaling to be more accurate. So i set my resolution to 768x480 (16:9 i think) and i think the scaling did seem more accurate. I remember in Chrono Cross everything seems abit tall.

Anyways this is the best I could do so far;

Game seem a little wide? I think it looks normal tbh.

Arghh didn't see this comming. Same resolution differant aspect why :O?

(thanks imageshack lol)

The menu and the actual game both have a different width. :S
This is the best i could do without the inaccurate fixed-aspect ratio nVidea provides.

These are my graphic settings ;

Changing my resolution to 640x480 makes things much worse (ironically making it more widescreen by adding a black bar at the top and bottom).

Anyone know the best way to make the game fit its aspect?

Damn widescreens.

EDIT: Chrono Trigger looks perfect in this resolution, both menus and game. Legend of dragoon looks horrible lol. Theres gotta be an automatic way to make these things fit its aspect ratio properly right!?
