Hello there,
especially @calb:
you got a pretty good PS-Emulator:thumb:
But it doesn't have a good gamepad-plugin, even in v1.70 sry..
Can you please add an option for using an external pad-plugin in future? That would be just great and I wouldn't use the old PCSX-Emu
Why im asking? The ForceFeedback with my original PS2-Controller (from Sony) and an USB-Adapter@Vista x64 doesn't work with that plugin; the only plugin that works is the Lilypad-plugin (v0.9 with 1D-ForceFeedback-Hack) from the PCSX2-Section
If you don't wanna do that, no problem, it was just a question:)
Thanks in Advice

Are you sure, try this :
1- You need to confirm that your OS knows/defines the feature (The ForceFeedback), to check if so, do as fellow:
* Plug your PS2 game pads
* Click start/settings/Control Panel/game controllers
* You'll see your currently installed gamepads/controllers
http://forums.ngemu.com/attachments/epsxe-discussion/162256d1212407307-gamepad-plugin-support-000000.gif
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[NOTE : If you can't see your game controllers listed then you must get some PS2 controllers drivers that allow you to get the request function to work with your OS or else you will not be able to do that at all :p]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Now click proprities to test/config your game controller features

http://forums.ngemu.com/attachments/epsxe-discussion/162258d1212407307-gamepad-plugin-support-000002.gif
* Find something like Vibration test/forcefeedback...etc, and confgure its options (in my case - illustrated bellow)

2- Now, that you confirmed that your system knows/defines well your controllers with all its options, you have just to configure your ePSXe emulator, try my settings(same setting for both controllers) :

I got a driver for the USB-Adapter, but ForceFeedack works with that, believe me, im not a noob;) But thanks for taking time for your tut:)
I know my ForceFeedback drivers use "Constant" for both motors with a single signal, but if I use the plugin of ePSXe, then FF doesn't work for me...
With Lilypad I use following Settings:
1D-FF-Hack
FF1,constant,force: 1.0 ->Big motor
FF1,constant,force: 0.255-> Small Motor
In ePSXe, I tried already every setting, it doesn't work...
Hm, the new Design of switching between between Analog and Digital looks nice^^
Here are my Pics of the driver-functions
Ah, if I use the original MS-Driver, than I don't have FF-Support!
Of course it uses DX-Input
Here is what everest says:
Field Value
DirectInput Device Properties
Device Description SPEED-LINK DUAL SHOCK ADAPTER
Device Type Unknown
Device Subtype Unknown
Axes 5
Buttons/Keys 12
DirectInput Device Features
Emulated Device Yes
Alias Device No
Polled Device No
Polled Data Format No
Attack Force Feedback Supported
Deadband Force Feedback Supported
Fade Force Feedback Supported
Force Feedback Supported
Saturation Force Feedback Supported
+/- Force Feedback Coefficients Supported
+/- Force Feedback Saturation Not Supported
I had similar problems with a new version of Lilypad, but I told that the author and he writes these 1D/2D-FF-Hacks, after that, FF's working

Yes, I know but you must understand that even if your adapter drivers works fine you can't get the results you seek with ePSXe just that way, ePSXe is a system-depends emulator (means its a very basic one), so if a hardware not defined well it will not work with ePSXe simple as that, and to confirm that i did plugged my controllers without installing them and they worked fine with ePSXe but no vibration, because I didn't define it, then I did and it works.
And another one I used the same previous test with PCSX with SSSPSX pad plugin and the vibration works even it wasn't yet defined to/by my system, so you should care a lot about defining/making your hardware working with your OS before anything with ePSXe.

Lilypad, SSSPSX are optimized plugins, which works with the new HI-TECH, maybe with next releases ePSXe will get through;)

mmm, it works then, hehe, its an ePSXe thing you know, try as last solution before they do something about other emulators (PCSX/PSXEVEN with SSSPSX plugin).

Oh man, Im so stupid...
The problem was, if I use the wrong signal for FF, my Controller's FF won't work anymore, I need to replug it to get FF working again...
With that new knowledge, I tested all options again, and found how to use both motors:
DX1
Constant
Sine
It surprises me, that the small motor is just working with the "sine"-option; I need some more tests, but I think, I finally got it to work... (Grandia's FF-Test
uses just the Big Motor, ToD2 uses just the small Motor for normal attacks; both is working)
And the best thing of all is: The CD-Plugin is working better with this version! These "lags" in loading a battle or something are completly gone! Nice:thumb:

according to Pete himself you can change epsxe Pad plugin too using Pete's epsxecutor!!
(he states thats a feature most ppl are not aware off)
Pete's PSX emu frontends (http://www.pbernert.com/html/frontend.htm) 1.0.6.3
when in configuration dialog
scroll down to the pad symbols and active whatever pad plugin you want (eg n-rage etc)
so through epsxe frontend you can have a diff plugin
but in my opinion most other plugins are poor vs the orig plugin special since 1.7

I know it's been a long time but in case someone can help - what's the option for ePSXe 1.6? It only has "Digital/Analog(F5)" as gamepad type and Burutter or DXJoyN for rumble type. I tried combinations but to no avail yet. I'm trying to get it to work for FF8. I'm using a SpeedLink PC gamepad with drivers installed and the rumble works in control panel.
