I guess every value board nowadays come with AC97 sound, and in my experience alll the emus and PC games work great. :) Don't worry about XP drivers though, the Win2k ones that come with the CD work just fine. :)

It doesn't support DirectX hardware acceleration, though.

excuse-me but i don't know much about emulators...
A soundboard that don't support DirectX hardware acceleration is a bad sound board?
I mean: DirectX acceleration is "a must" ?

no, not really. it's just that if you have an actual sound card, then it definitely has DX hardware accel. If it's onboard, it's a "software soundcard", so obviously no hardware accel.
In effect, what you get out of AC97 is basic sound. If you're an audiophile, I'd suggest you get a separate card.

I don't know...
If this soundboard has the sound clear and pure and no noises, i can handle with that for now.:)
In fact i don't know if MSI K7T266 Pro2 has the onboard-sound optional because the site don't say that.
Because of this i'm so afraid of the sound:)
