Perspective Correction,

Lewpy:

"Theoretically, it would be possible to use some HLE techniques to pass the z information for each vertex to the GPU, as the GTE does actually calculate the z value (used for depth-sorting the primitives, so they are sent to the GPU in reverse depth). But there are many catches to this:-
- The game may modify the z data after calculating it in the GTE
- The game may not use the GTE commands"

High Definition Textures

Also, you know how the Nintendo 64 emulators now have high definition texture packs? Why can't we do that for Playstation? Imagine Silent Hill with perspective correction and photo realistic textures.......that would be ****ing great.

Widescreen Stretch Mode?

Any of you have windows media center? The reason I ask is the program has a zoom mode for 4:3 videos to stretch to 16:9 resolution and it looks great! The video isn't all smushed like all the other stretch modes I've seen. I'm not sure the name of the shape, so I'll post a picture so you know what I'm talking about. It looks like an hour glass turned on its side, or a skewed rectangle, so only little bits of the video are cut off from the top and bottom, but it looks almost perfect, no stretching at all.

Smooth Texture Edges

Notice how his head has triangulated points and it isn't round as it should be? Is there a possible way to smooth them out? Logic tells me it's not, but it's worth a shot to ask.

Also, I'd like to throw in a question that is not a feature request. Is OpenGL 2 with the ultra high resolution on both X & Y that much better than just the regular Direct X at a very high resolution? Because of it is like an amazing difference I'm going to have to buy an nVidia video card. Man, I hate ATI cards. Why did I get one :(

To everyone reading, if all of these questions have been answered please don't be an ******* about it. :)

And to Pete Bernert and everyone at the ePSXe team, thanks so ****ing much for this emulator. I LOVE IT!!!

In another thread, "3x3cUt0r" said:

"He's talking about the lack of perspective correction on the psx hardware, sorry there is no plugin or emulator to fix that, the psx doesn't have Z-buffer, some games emulated it like Crash Bandicoot but most didn't."

So, if Crash Bandicoot could emulate perspective correction, couldn't we do the same? That's probably the stupid question, since it's probably built right into the game's code.

The absence of "perspective correction" was never due to the performance hit, more about the feasibility of it...

Highdef textures: as I see it, never gonna happen. If doable, a patcher for ps1 games to replace the original textures by highres ones would be expected to see the day before this could be hoped to be featured in a gpu plugin.

I would like to see a built in memcard that you can delete or format, Rather then making new memcard files all the time when you swap it onto a new windows or anuther pc

I would like to see a "real" lightgun support. Mouse is ok for gaming but some people has a lightgun and not usable. LCD lightguns work just a mouse but the absolute/relative mode-cords different.

Sorry, but.. Can anyone explain me what's the perspective correction? :)
