Help wanted badly!

Man I must be doing something wrong. No matter what I do this emulator runs slow. Im not new with emulators and My computer should be good enough to run these(Amd Athalon950 Mhz Processor, Geforce 3mx video card, 256 Megs of ram, 12xCDRW, Win XP). Well I know its good enough through use of other emulators that have dissapointed me lately.F-U EPSXE. Anyway the games run extremely slow. Ive tried Wild arms, FF7, Suikodens 1&2 among various others. All run slowly, And all are legit games(not burned copies). Im hoping that the new emulator coming out will help. So if anyone has any suggestions im open for them. Thanks!
