Thanks for the quick reply.

Anyway, regarding this :
Just in the possibility that you missed this, make sure that in the memcard selection window, in ePSXe, each memcard is directed to the 'Saves' directory of ePSXe and that you've typed a name for each memcard i.e. mempoopty.mcr

The memcard directory that I specified in ePSXe contains the memcard, but regarding the saves, what should be contained in that?

Also, I forgot to mention that I have also tried using PCSX, and even a lower version of ePSXe (1.5.2), but still the problem occurs. I'll try to download PSXeven and SSSPSX today, and find out if that same problem will occur.
