Hi there,
I've tried checking the forums for this specific problem, but I can't seem to find a solution for it. To begin with, I've downloaded ePSXe 1.60 and tried out my PS game on it, specifically Chrono Trigger (US-NTSC). I've tried the game, but the emulator does not allow me to save via memcard.
I have tried a few other options discussed in forums like formatting the memcards, letting the bios create the memcard, and using memcard editors to create new memcards (and formatted them). I have tried creating a .MCR and a .GME, but still, the problem persists.
Then, I tried turning on the log to see what specifically happens, and this is what came out when I run the PS bios and go to the memcard option :
================================================== =====
* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.6.0.
* Memory handlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [bios\SCPH1001.BIN].
* Doing init gpu[0]...
* Gpu open[0]...
* Direct input init ok.
* Init core spu ... ok
* Warning: The memcard [] has NOT been saved to disk
================================================== =====
The warning also shows up everytime I start to play a game.
I am specifically concerned with the
Warning: The memcard [] has NOT been saved to disk message and I am starting to wonder why the memcard was not saved to disk. I have tried several options like configuring the memcard to point to a directory in a FAT32 formatted disk (thinking that it might be the NTFS issue that does this), and even turning off my firewall.
For additional information, below are the details of my ePSXe configuration :
bios : scph1001 (US)
video : Pete's OpenGL driver 1.76 (video card is nVidia GeForce)
sound : ePSXe SPU core 1.52
cdrom : ePSX CDR WNT/W2K core 1.52
I also have a USB game controller installed, and properly configured in Windows, and in ePSXe.
As for the PC configuration, I am running on Windows XP service pack 2 OS on a Centrino Duo processor. The primary partition is an NTFS, but there is a portion that has a FAT32 partition. (I have tried saving the memcard on both the NTFS and the FAT32 partition, and selected them properly using the ePSXe memcard configuration, to no success.)
I just wanted to know what causes this problem and I hope someone here in the forum could help me. I also hope that all the information I have provided would be sufficient enough.
** I apologize if there is already a post here with the same problem, but I tried my best to use the search facilities, and examine the returns of the search.
Thanks very much.
Cheers!
