as for your first two problems....just try tweaking around the settings, thats all. your computer is wayyyy more than you need (i wrote this guide with an athlon 2500+ and a FX5600) so you should be ok.
as for the third thing, thats just a limitation of the PSX. you'll see the effect a lot more as you raise the resolution.
