well if you want to try ePSXe it's really not that difficult it just requires a little bit of work but it's not really that bad and seeing that your computer is more than adequate to run ePSXe you should really check it out by the way since you have a laptop make sure that all powersaving features are off actually better yet keep the laptop plugged into the wall for optimal usage.
to get ePSXe running i'd first suggest going to

this thread which has a lot of general troubleshooting advice and should be your first stop to checking it out, please note the part about remaking an image and the tutorial it links to because an opcode error could very well be a problem caused by bad data being sent aka you made a bad iso or there is a CD reading error.
