Well, you can buy the boxes empty straight from Nintendo, and then you don't have to displace any of your DS games/manuals. The prices are actually pretty decent... $1 for 1, $4 for 5, or $7 for 10. You're better off getting more at one time, since it's the same price for shipping no matter what.

Also, yeah, like didamangi said, the preferred paper is cheap, thin non-photo paper. It actually looks TOO shiny and strange on photo paper, and the thick paper is hard to fit into the insert. As long as you have a good printer set on a high quality setting, they look really nice on just about any regular old paper.
