It's all very well to put high speed DDR RAM clocked to 300Mhz+ on video boards, implementing it on motherboards is substantially more difficult, assuming you want solid stable motherboards.
PC2100 hasn't even been adopted yet.. i wouldn't expect to see motherboards supporting even faster clocked RAM that quickly (in mainstream that is, i'm well aware faster DDR RAM is currently being sampled).
As for Rambus imposing speed restrictions.. interesting. Sounds like BS to me, i'd love you to supply some info to substantiate that.
