I’m surprised, several members here have inquired about a career in law enforcement. I defiantly encourage those up to the challenge to pursue it.
It takes time and effort to become a detective. (Of course, lots of other positions are available)
For my line of employment, you should have a strong stomach. I work in violent crimes. Most of the time I deal with homicides. But I also work with the sex crimes task force.
Some of the things you see can be terribly cruel. (Some cases in particular were very hard for me.)
my eldest sister has a job as difficult as mine (if not more) she’s a pathologist… so I guess this runs in my family.
Anyway, at the end of some days… when you save a life, help someone in need or just give a family closer… it is the most rewarding feeling in the world.
So once again, I encourage anyone who has an interest in law enforcement to check it out.
