Any games that give you the AV cable error you need to simply edit the bootstrap of your iso to enable VGA box support. It's not hard. Just do a search with google and you'll figure it out.
Same for making things self booting, just do a search or read a homebrew site like dcemulation.com on how to make a emulator self booting, but instead do it with your backup or whatever the hell it is.
