I guess I did, didn't I? Thanks for the link, it does shed some light on things. Now, while I don't consider the possibility of my rom collection being overdumped as a serious issue, it's always nice to reclaim needlessly wasted disk space.

Of course, that site doesn't answer everything in the first place, or explanation of what these "distintive features" are that the site claims that overdumped ROMs have. Darn this scientific curiousity that phrase has piqued.

Thoughtless, you can rest assured that I'm not trying to ask for ROMs, nor am I giving out links to where they are; neither am I trying to post anything else that would be against the board's rules in regards to ROMs.

Yes, discussions about ROMs tend to walk the line between being legitimate questions and outright violations of the boards rules, but I don't think I've crossed that line as long as this doesn't stray too far from being a question of terminology.

And I agree with ShadowDancer, if a mod thought I had already crossed that line, it would have been locked already.

-edit-
I jumped to conclusions regarding kirby's link. It does give me an answer, just not an in-depth, scientific over-analyzation of what an overdumped ROM is.
