The rom setup is quite different and difficult to handle.....rather than using a single rom file, MAME uses multiple files in a single to run the game. Now, that's understandable, but when there isn't a detection method of whether or not you have all the necessary files to run the rom, and at times MAME and the rom dumper information don't seem to agree with each other (case in point: Every time I try to run Xevious, the emulator says I'm missing a bunch of files, even though I've checked mame.dk, and it clearly shows that I have all the files necessary), it gets frustrating to run many games. Add to that MAME's stubborn requirement of using its own BIOS roms for special emulation (NeoGeo, CPS2, etc.), and yet not making them easily accessible (they might as well just add it to the emulator, even with the risk of being taken off), and you got something that's problematic.
