>IE is rather crashy. On WinXP it is far better than Win98, and even Win2K, but it still crashes more than is even remotely reasonable

What? Not even once in the 2 years I've had XP installed is crashy?

>IE is chock full of security holes. Even if you secure it right, it still has some problems

Anything that is popular will have security holes exposed. If 90% of hte world used Linux instead of Windows and thus the opposing browser, we'd have the same arguements the other way as hackers and phreakers will target that which is popular. Plus most sensible people use a firewall.

>IE is Windows only. The Mac version doesn't really count; it is a completely different browser, just with the same name

That's because some of the features are linked to the OS. It sounds to me like you are jealous of it not being in Linux rather than anything else.

>Microsoft has consistantly flaunted just about every W3 standard, never fully implementing them, and adding proprietary extensions. It wouldn't be so bad if they propsed their extensions for the next versions of said standards, but that doesn't happen.

As I understand it, there was a point when just about every site was Netscape orientated. At this time, Microsoft was far more standards accurate, yet displayed fewer pages......
