Perhaps a list of the plugins you are using and there settings
BUT off the top of my head be sure you have a sound plugin selected. be sure your speakers are on (grin) Do not use the internal plugin even though it might work it's not as good as the external ones.
What CD-ROM plugin are you using? that will also affect sound as well.
