which is how sega succeeded with its sonic franchise because they marketed the image of "cool." In fact, and I feel real shallow for admitting this, but that's why i've always like sonic over mario, he just seems "cooler" (along with his soundtracks for the games). Now only if sega could've been that succesful with its other business ventures.... oh well.
