Actually, let me correct one thing: save states are less prone to get corrupted than normal saves.
On version 1.0a, there is another battery/normal save bug: if you play an EEPROM save game, then all the following games will be saved as EEPROM and that's a problem for the Flash/SRAM save games.
This will be fixed in version 1.1 and you can workaround by closing the emulator after playing an EEPROM game.
