OpenGL + 1964 = Nothing but a crash
Like the title says, i cannot get 1964 and OpenGL to cooperate. glNintendo64() and Rice's Daedulus do not work on 1964! Can anyone help (and it isn't bad ROMS, because all my roms work with Jabo's plugin)

I see you're using Detonator 43.00 drivers with your TNT2. Since it's a somehow old card, it's recommended that you stick yo some older drivers (I think that 2x.xx should be fine, maybe someone else with a TNT2 can tell you better which driver to use). The latest Detonators offer absolutely no improvements to a TNT2, it's being developed focusing on the Geforce cards.
Anyway, you can always use a D3D plugin.

My friend reccomended 30.82, so i am using that now. And, i still cannot get OpenGL to work. I haven't tried Jabo's OpenGL (i never heard of it
) Maybe i need to mess around with the settings, or just stick with Jabo's DirectX6 1.5? |

For Paper Mario, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Mario Kart 64 I use Glide64 0.31 (with evoodoo ) as it negates errors that I get whith these games (DK64, B-K, MarioKart = HUGE FPS problems, PAper Mario = Flicker Problem) when using any other plugins. For sound I use Azimer's 0.40 audio and Jabo's DSound, depending on the game. As for your TnT2, I wouldn't clock it too high (what are the default values?) as I find that it really hits performance more than improving it. I think my GeForce 2 (garbage) MX 400 is up by a safe 10% (not that it actually makes that big of a speed increase )Quote:

The Defaults are 125/143, and i can overclock to 160/160.
Where can i get Glide and eVoodoo? And thank you for the nice comment about my ROM collection! I Own all those games, too ( except for a few ) And, i don't have any flickering in Paper Mario & Jabo's DX6 1.5. It's the only game i have that runs at full speed, also. And i really want a better vid card! |

I found Glide64 and eVoodoo on my own. I CAN REALLY TELL THE DIFFERERNCE! Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, ran at FULL SPEED, with perfect audio! But the FPS is falsely reporting. It says it runs about 20fps, when it runs at full speed. Majoras Mask, however, looks beautiful, but is slower then slugs. This isn't the best screenshot, either. The time does show.
More testing shows that Tetris 64, Paper Mario , and MarioKart 64 don't run Paper Mario flickers, and i just get a black screen with the other 2 ( i can get past the menu in MarioKart64, though)

Well, at least some things are working for you know, BTW Glide 64 does NOT falsely report FPS, it merely reports 1/2 the value of the actual FPS (for some reason unknown to me with my lack of programming skills
) To speed things up get a faster processor, or O/C your current one, N64 emulation is mainly Processor intensive, not so much video card intensive. To O/C your Video card (if you are interested in that still) google 'Rivatuner' a neat tweaking utility for Nvidia and ATI video cards. Glad it helped you a bit! |

I just registered to reply to this..
It says 20FPS because 20fps is the actual fps, not half. Most games run at 20/30 true fps, and not 60 like most people think. 60 is vi/s, not fps. Only n64 game I know of that runs at an actual 60FPS is F-Zero X. You won't get too far with a better videocard in your K6-2, a tnt-2 is bottlenecked with it.

VI/S means " vertical interrupts per second ", according to Glide64
If I get a faster computer w/ no vid card, i would want something better then a TnT2 M64
