I actually own a full mega-tech machine and they are a fantastic piece of kit. The games don't offer much more than the megadrive in terms of content but the experience of playing them on a big screen, with a proper joystick & arcade buttons is great. Oh and something seldom noticed is that machine produces far better sound than I've ever been able to get from a megadrive, whether it be emulated, real through TV, real through my home theater setup... Streets of rage intro on it sounds incredible!

And to nitpick the mega-tech wasn't JAMMA it has a propietary system, the mega-play however was jamma compatible

I guess for most people this being emulated isnt a huge issue but it's still an arcade system and deserves to be emulated just as much as the next.

The ROM info from the games is more or less identical to MD format but has the bits changed around. I tried comparing the hex of some games to see if I could burn regular MD games onto EPROM's to use with the machine but I haven't managed to find out yet how they were altered. And to that effect regular MD carts dont work They need an extra EPROM for the second screen's instructions & game name etc. information and as said the main rom's data is mixed around a bit.
