Scaling and interpolation are not even close to true resolution flexibility. That's akin to saying ePSXe's filters can make the game true HD. It's halfway there at best, and letterboxing, well, that's not even the same thing, since the same amount of area isn't used. When it can use the same amount of area for different resolutions without interpolating or scaling, then we'll talk and call it actual resolution flexibility. Even CRTs don't have infinite resolution flexibility.

As for the field of view, it just so happens that LCDs are just about all that's left on the PC monitor market, so they're the ones being converted to the new widescreen format. That does not mean, however, that it is something akin to the LCD technology, so it's pointless for you to list it as a pro of the technology itself. There does exist a widescreen CRT, the Sony GDM-FW900 (what I'd do to get a new one), for your information.

What did I tell you? Every time it comes up for someone to ask someone else why they have a CRT, a debate follows (true enough that I took part in it though). It's a subjective matter, so just let the damn thing rest. If you're interested in arguing about it, start a thread dedicated to it.
