okay,

~when you click the file to unpack, keep tabs on where it unpacks to (by default it's "C:\adaptec\aspi")

~click Start > Run... and type cmd in the "Open:" field. a command prompt should pop up (black screen with white text on most systems).

~navigate to the folder where you unpacked the files to. if you're not sure how to do this, just type in:
cd C:\adaptec\aspi
and hit Enter.

~then, for 32-bit standard WinXP, type:
"install.bat xp32"
with a space between "install.bat" and "xp32". for 64-bit Windows XP:
"install.bat xp64"

~afterwards, you can run aspichk.exe in the extracted folder to see if ASPI installed ok. it should say "ASPI is properly installed and fully operational" in grey at the bottom.

if you have anymore problems, please just ask
df
It didnt install. i went to the cmd. heres the result:
