I've had awful luck trying ubuntu.

First time I installed it, it worked for about three boots, but then one day it wouldn't boot and just threw me into a command line screen. Another time I tried it everything was fine for awhile, but I downloaded an update and it refused to boot again.

All in all, I think Linux is too much of a PITA for me. I've never had problems like that with Windows. (Maybe some people have... I haven't.)
