There's no real need to buy a aftermarket cooler unless your going for a 50% overclock or so, since C2Ds don't really put out that much heat. Check your temps right now with a program like RealTemp and if their 35-40C your good to go. Even though I personally do use a zalman cpu cooler when i run mine at stock speed, but that's simply because Intel's cheap push pin design pisses me off to no end.

Also, playing from disk simply wears out your dvd drive's laser and makes loading take longer (might also cause stuttering if your drive is real slow), so just use the provided iso plugin to rip an image of the game and play the game from that.
